STEP 2. Check the roof load capacity
STEP 3. Choose your dream roof top tent
STEP 1. Purchase of roof bars

Dedicated roof bars are available for most passenger cars, even if there are no obvious mounting points or rails. Roof bars are a part of the car that will work not only for a roof tent, but also for a roof box or bike racks.
It is important to choose good quality bars made of strong materials. This is our own safety and the safety of other road users.
Our offer includes a full range of Thule, Yakima and Cruz bars. You can buy roof bars together with the roof tent. We will install the whole thing on site or send you a complete set.
Among the roof bar sets available on the market, we distinguish between bars placed on the feet from above and bars entering the foot (so-called edge). Bars placed on the feet from above will work best under a roof tent, it is about the issue of pressure and weight distribution.

STEP 2. Check the roof load capacity

Each vehicle has a specific dynamic roof load capacity. This refers to the maximum weight that the car can have on the roof while driving. It is about safety in traffic when significantly greater forces act on the load, for example during heavy braking.
This information can usually be found in the vehicle's user manual or online. The dynamic roof load capacity of most medium and large passenger cars is a maximum of 75 kg, in the SUV segment and in the case of off-road vehicles even up to 100 kg.
What about the extra weight of the people inside?
When the car is stationary, the concept of static load capacity appears. According to crash tests, the roof structure should withstand the weight of the car when it rolls over, which is over 1000 kg. So the roof will easily withstand the weight of a tent with people sleeping inside.

STEP 3. Choose your dream roof top tent
You know the roof load limit, you can compare it with the weight of each of the Wild Land roof tent models in our offer. Depending on the tent model, the weight starts from 39 kg up to the family Wild Cruiser PRO 250 - 76 kg. A convenient option is the model comparison tool, it will allow you not only to choose a tent in terms of weight, but also other elements that best suit your needs.
Tents mounted on the roof of the car are divided into those with a hard casing and with a soft cover. Below we present the advantages of both models. First of all, it is worth considering whether we are limited by the height of the entrance to the garage hall, whether we have a low or high car (with a high car it is difficult to put a cover on a tent with a soft casing) and whether we sleep in a different place every time or rather spend time stationary (here the ease of setting up and folding the tent will also be important).
The type of car you have is also a selection criterion. In the case of most hatchback and sedan cars, due to the size of the roof, tents that extend beyond the outline of the car will be ideal (large sleeping area and compact dimensions of the folded tent). Combi, SUV and larger off-road vehicles, here almost any of the tent models will fit.
