Wild Land Wingman – modern pickup tent enclosure

A completely new concept of traveling with a pickup truck. Wild Land has designed a unique solution for a universal tent body dedicated to any double cab cargo space, both smaller pickups such as the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and Raptor, as well as American models such as the Ford F150 and RAM1500.

From concept to production, a series of tests, improvements, and final patenting of the design – this is how Wingman was created. A unique solution, fully remote-controlled with the included remote control and via an app available for Android and iOS phones.

Bedroom space and more

When unfolded, the structure divides the space into two levels.

By controlling the unfolding of the structure, we can decide to unfold only the lower part, i.e., the space from the floor of the cargo area to the frame of the sleeping area. This is an ideal solution if we want to stop somewhere for a while or have come, for example, to go fishing.

This part has built-in walls made of waterproof 600D rip-stop oxford fabric, as does the entrance, and there are additional windows with mosquito nets on the sides. The height from the floor of the cargo area to the frame of the sleeping area is 150 cm.

The upper part of the structure is a typical sleeping area with a 140x220 cm mattress and panoramic windows. The sleeping area provides comfortable rest for 2-3 people.

The 360-degree view from the windows is truly impressive. The lower part of the tent is made of 600D rip-stop oxford fabric. Double-layer windows with offset zippers on the mosquito net and main fabric provide protection not only against insects, but also rain and unpleasant wind. There is no need to install metal roof supports. During rain, the windows can be closed without fear of water getting inside. In addition, the seams are glued and the material at the bottom of the base is properly contoured.

Inside the sleeping area, there are plenty of storage compartments for small items, and the roof itself has a transparent hatch that can be opened.

Both levels have been equipped with magnet-mounted LED lamps and high-quality speakers with the option of playing music via Bluetooth or memory cards.

Storage space

The scissor-type opening system and ladder mounted on the sides of the structure provide full access to the cargo area. Thanks to this solution, the car retains its full capacity for safe storage of luggage and camping equipment.

There are additional MOLLE panels on the sides of the body, and the set includes roof bars. You can easily transport a surfboard, SUP, or kayak. You can also install solar panels. The maximum load capacity of the bars is 30 kg.

Compact dimensions and low weight

The closed bodywork is completely hidden behind the car cabin, so we do not have to worry about height restrictions on roads or entering a garage (if our car has fit in there so far). The dimensions of the vehicle, and thus the driving comfort, remain unchanged, and the low weight does not require any suspension modifications.

Made with attention to every detail

The shell is made of a combination of aluminum and plastic. The upper part—the roof itself—is aluminum, as are the side panels for attaching additional accessories, a canopy, or a shower cabin.

The entire structure is electrically controlled. The mechanism is powered by a built-in battery with a capacity of 177.6Wh, 48000mAh, with a display showing the charge level. The batteries can be removed and charged directly from the cigarette lighter socket. The structure also has a manual lock for the lifting mechanism and ladder in case of power failure.

Installation without drilling

The Wingman body is universal and fits any pickup truck, from the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger/Raptor to American cars such as the Ford F150, RAM1500, and Toyota Tundra. The frame, dedicated to a specific car model, is mounted on the sides, and the entire system is bolted to it. This ensures a perfect fit.

Installation of the body does not require any interference with the car's structure or drilling. The complete body weighs 250 kg.
