Bed rack system

Bed rack system for pick-ups

A bed rack system is a modular frame for a pick-up bed that allows you to make the most of the load space without altering the vehicle’s structure. This solution works well both for everyday use and when transporting equipment or preparing the vehicle for trips.

If you’re looking for a solution such as a flatbed rack, a pick-up bed conversion or a roof tent frame – the bed rack system is the most popular choice.

Bed rack without drilling – compatible with a roller blind

Our bed rack systems are designed so that installation takes place without interfering with the vehicle’s structure, and is easy and intuitive. The entire system is fitted using the vehicle’s factory mounting points, without drilling or permanent modifications.

Importantly, it is possible to use both the rack and the roller blind simultaneously, whether manual or electric. This allows you to retain the functionality of the space beneath the roller blind whilst gaining additional storage space above it.

Applications of the bed rack system

  • roof tent frame – a stable base for mounting a tent
  • equipment transport – bicycles, boxes, jerry cans, outdoor gear
  • expedition bodywork – preparing the car for a journey
  • everyday use – transporting tools and larger items

Thanks to its modular design, you can adapt the system to a specific application – from a simple frame to an extensive transport system with closed boxes, MOLLE panels and other mounts.

No compromises or half-measures – stainless steel and no welds

The frames we design – specifically bed rack-style fittings – are made from stainless steel, without welding, using cold-forming techniques. This directly translates into the durability, strength and appearance of the entire structure. You can be sure that the fitting will fulfil its functions, accommodate any equipment, and serve you reliably for years to come.

Cold bending of steel – what does it involve?

Cold bending of steel is a process of shaping the material under pressure, without heating it. As a result, the material retains its original properties, which means greater strength and durability compared to welded structures.

No welds – a real advantage

In traditional steel structures, welded joints are points of weakness – more susceptible to corrosion and damage. With cold-formed structures, this problem does not arise, and the whole structure gains a modern, aesthetic appearance with no visible joints.

Steel or aluminium?

Stainless steel is characterised by high resistance to loads and mechanical stress. Cold bending further increases its hardness and resistance to deformation. As a result, this material is ideal for mounting heavier equipment, such as roof tents or expedition gear.

Aluminium is lighter, but less resistant to deformation under heavy loads and intensive off-road use. Therefore, for pick-up bodywork, where durability and safety are paramount, steel remains the more reliable and durable solution for long-term use.

Bed rack or hardtop – which to choose?

The choice between a bed rack and a hardtop depends primarily on how you use your pick-up and the type of equipment you carry.

A bed rack is a modular solution that allows you to make the most of the load bed space without enclosing it. You retain access to the space under the roller cover and can freely configure the space above it as well. The frame allows for the installation of a roof tent, the transport of larger items, and the addition of extra accessories. You can easily dismantle the whole thing whenever you like.

A hardtop is an enclosed body that creates a secure cargo area extending up to the height of the cab. It is ideal where protecting the equipment being transported from the elements and unauthorised access is essential. It is worth bearing in mind that a hardtop requires the removal of the roller blind and appropriate organisation of the interior space.

In practice, a bed rack offers greater flexibility and the possibility of expansion, whilst a hardtop ensures the cargo area is enclosed and protected. The choice depends on whether modularity and accessibility are more important, or whether full protection of the transported equipment is a priority, and of course, which option is more visually appealing.

FAQ – bed rack installation

Does a bed rack installation require drilling?

No, our bed rack is mounted using the vehicle’s factory mounting points, without interfering with the vehicle’s structure and without the need for drilling. A bed rack also does not require the removal of the roller blind, the rear wind deflector or the plastic trim panels.

Can the roller blind be used?

Yes – the bed rack system is compatible with roller blinds, both manual and electric, allowing the space underneath to remain fully functional.

Can a roof tent be fitted?

Yes – the bed rack structure provides a stable base for a roof tent and ensures adequate dynamic and static load-bearing capacity.

Can the system be expanded?

Yes, our system is modular; at any time, you can choose additional components and expand the frame with side shelves, MOLLE panels, lockable boxes, or mounts for a Hi-Lift jack or a telescopic ladder.

How much weight can a bed rack system support?

The load-bearing capacity of a bed rack system depends on the specific configuration and method of installation; however, the structure is designed to withstand heavy loads – both static (e.g. a roof tent, people sleeping inside, additional equipment) and dynamic loads whilst driving.

Is a bed rack legal?

Yes – a bed rack is legal and does not require type approval. It is important that it is fitted correctly, in accordance with the user manual, and used for its intended purpose. It is crucial to remain within the vehicle’s permissible load capacity and to secure the equipment being transported appropriately.
